Chevrolet Driver Mounts 2×4 Instead of Light Bar; Likes the “Clean Look”

For off-roaders, having a nice set of aftermarket lights on the top of your ride makes it really easy to see at night. Jeremy Clarkson referred to the light on a Raptor as a “collapsed sun.” I’ll admit, they also look pretty badass. But if you like the look you really should go out and buy a light bar, and not do what this person did. He attached a 2×4 to his roof because he likes the “clean look.”

Thanks to reddit, we have a screenshot of the person’s Silverado that he put the fake light bar on. Heck, you can find them on Amazon for $50 or less. That’s likely about the same amount as a full tank of gasoline in the Silverado. But I digress. Many of the redditors also think this is crazy.

“What the hell could possibly be the purpose of that thing?!”

“This has got to be one of the single most absurd things I’ve seen on here in a while.”

“This had to be the epitome of why this sub-reddit exists.”

Now, if it weren’t for the person sharing the photos himself, we could assume the 2×4 was used for something else; such as mounting scientific equipment (think storm chaser), or it’s the first part of a homemade roof rack.

But it’s not. A 2×4 does not a light bar make.
