Black-on-Black 1965 Chevy C10 Is One Smooth Operator

Chevy C10

Forget about unnecessary frills and modern additions. Timeless style and welcome simplicity are enough to make this vintage Chevy C10 simply irresistible!

When the all-new Chevy C10 dropped in 1960, it represented a radical departure from trucks of old. With a drop-center ladder frame, the cab now sat closer to the ground. Couple that with the introduction of independent front suspension, and you’ve got a truck that rides and drives a whole lot like a car. After that, improvements continued to roll in. And by 1965, the Chevy C10 was one seriously handsome, capable, and comfortable pickup.

If you’re a fan of the first gen Chevy C10 (and who isn’t?), you won’t find many examples nicer than this incredible ’65 that we spotted over at The Collector Car Network. With an extra classy black on black color combination, this truck exhibits all the qualities we love on the early Chevy C10. There’s that low slung stance, smooth body lines, and just the right amount of chrome. No need for crazy fabricated body mods or even modern wheels. Chevy got things right the first time, as this beauty looks perfect just the way it is!

Move to the inside, and things are just as simple and spartan as the exterior. Despite their many mechanical improvements, these trucks didn’t need bucket seats or other frills. Just a flat bench, gauges, steering wheel, and shifter. And lest you think that there’s some modern fuel-injected mill under the hood, think again! Nothing more than a stone reliable, rebuilt 292 straight-six for this classic Chevy C10, and that’s all you really need.

Aside from air conditioning, there isn’t much here to note. And that’s exactly the way we like it. You won’t find a single person on the planet who finds this smooth operator of a Chevy C10 offensive. All it takes is the right combination of classic style to make this vintage pickup simply irresistible!
