BLACKLAKE XT1

BLACKLAKE Research & Development has unveiled the BLACKLAKE XT1. It is a 650HP, off-road beast for the true truck enthusiast.

The Chevy Silverado is a great truck, and it is offered in many different configurations. An electric version is on the way and the ZR2 will be available for those looking for a bit more off-road muscle. But as great as these factory trucks are, they are still developed to appease a wide audience base. If you are a true track enthusiast and looking for something a bit more extreme than the factory options, you need to checkout BLACKLAKE Research & Development. They have just released the BLACKLAKE XT1. This truck is not built to pose for pictures outside of the local mall. This rig is about serious off-road business. It is for the truck person that will use it like a truck.

BLACKLAKE starts with a Chevy Silverado and makes a few changes. When we say a few changes, we mean that they change nearly everything. The body, front and rear suspension, drivetrain, wheels, tires, and interior are all modified. The result is a unique long-travel, wide-body truck that will stand out from the crowd. The best part is that all this was developed right in Detroit. Let’s look at some of what makes this truck special.

The Body

BLACKLAKE XT1

This truck has a wide and muscular stance thanks to BLACKLAKE Carbon-Kevlar fenders and bedsides. It gives the truck a tough look without making it look too over the top obnoxious. The exterior also features several other BLACKLAKE components. There are steel reinforced composite bumpers with shackle mounts. A carbon-titanium hood extractor and integrated LED marker lighting complete the body modifications. The swollen fenders allow for a set of Black Rhino 17×9.5 beadlock wheels wrapped with BFG 35×12.5-17 KM3 tires. This truck means business.

Taking Care of Business

Seats

This truck not only looks the business, but it can get the job done as well. It is powered by a 6.2L V8 with a TVS2650 supercharger on top. The result is 650 horsepower being handled by a 10-speed automatic transmission. For the appropriate noises there is a Borla stainless steel exhaust system. A rear E-Locker differential is also included with a set of 3.73 gears. The front suspension is modified with a set of double adjustable coilovers and control arms that offer 11.8-inches of travel. Out back the setup is good for 17.5-inches of travel. This truck will get you to where you need to go.

Interior and Accessories

Interior

It will also get you there in comfort. Inside you are greeted with Katzkin leather seats embossed with BLACKLAKE Research & Development. A host of accessories are also included on the BLACKLAKE XT1 build. A Warn Zeon Platinum 12S wireless remote winch is up front along with Rigid Industries fog lights. AMP Research Powerstep running boards are along the side. A BLACKLAKE Spare Tire Mount is out back. Underneath is a BLACKLAKE full aluminum skid plate. And controlling everything is a BLACKLAKE x SPOD 8-channel solid state accessory control.

If you are looking for a truck that will satisfy your every need and look great doing it, then you have to consider the BLACKLAKE XT1. Let us know what you think of it in the Chevrolet Forum forums.
