The Odd Couple: Meet the Chevy Blazer/Ford Coupe Mashup

Chevy Blazer 1940 Ford truck

This unusual modified truck incorporates a Chevy Blazer with a retro Ford front end. But would you drive it?

We came across this very modified Chevy Blazer on Reddit and we’re still scratching our head. Poster ginger_with_a_s0ul found the truck for sale on Craigslist for $8,300. The truck is a 1989 Chevrolet Blazer fitted with a reproduction of a 1940 Ford coupe front end. The build does raise a few questions, such as: Huh?

We will say that the modification is indeed well done. Beyond that, we’re a little confused. The style and stance of the second-generation boxy Chevy Blazer doesn’t really go with the curvy Ford sedan. Would a few more changes make this a cool ride? In the right hands could this blend of Chevy and Ford work?

The comments on Reddit were along the same lines, okay, maybe a little harsher. FoodBeerBikesMusic said “Looks like the front got stung by a bee and is all swollen.” RegalDolan agreed, “Looks like this came out of a Dr. Seuss book.” At first look, we can’t help but think this does look a little like a PT Cruiser. And some Redditors agreed. SolvitNOW posted “It’s a PT Loser,” and craylash added “Is that the PT Cruiser’s dad?” CornbreadRambo summed it up by saying that “You don’t find a car like that. It finds you.”

What do you think? Is this mod beyond the pale, or does it have possibility?
