Chevy Silverado 3500 Military Style Custom Build

With a totally new, custom body and all sorts of upgrades, this wild one-off Chevy Silverado 3500 looks like it belongs on a movie set.

We’ve seen some truly wild custom truck builds in our lifetimes, that much is for certain. While most are tasteful, there are just a few folks that there that dare to be different, conjuring up some pretty crazy ideas and then executing them in the form of a head-turning vehicle –  whether that be for better or for worse. We’re not totally sure what to make of the latest standout build we’ve come across – this Chevy Silverado 3500 that now looks like something out of a sci-fi movie – but it’s up for sale on eBay, so we feel obliged to talk about it, at least.

It’s hard to believe at this point, but this wild machine started life as nothing but a regular, run of the mill 2007 Chevy Silverado 3500 Duramax Dually, a workhorse of a truck that was completely torn apart and rebuilt into one of the most unique machines we’ve ever seen. That’s mostly thanks to the fact that the cab and bed are long gone, replaced by a custom body fitted to a steel subframe and skeleton.

The frame was also fortified to handle the extra weight that new steel body panels added, along with super thick shatter resident glass – this is a military-style build, after all – in fact, the seller notes that one could add bulletproof glass if they wish. If all of that isn’t enough, this vehicle that was formerly known as a Chevy Silverado 3500 also has gullwing doors, which add a nice touch of showiness to the mix.

The interior of this rig wasn’t ignored either, and is actually quite nice with full saddle brown cow hides, perforated suede, and marine grade carbon covering most surfaces, along with new gauges, front and rear cameras to help navigate the massive machine, and a touchscreen audio system to boot.

Power comes from a deleted 6.6L Duramax LBZ diesel, which is mated to an Allison 1000 6-speed transmission, while the suspension has been upgraded with Monster truck sway bars, Radflo 2.5″ remote reservoir shocks, a PSC 3″ dual ended steering ram, and an Offroad Only AiRock adjustable air ride system. The whole setup weighs a whopping 13,000 pounds, but according to the seller, it’s street legal in a number of states, meaning that it doesn’t need to just live life as a show piece. And truthfully, we can’t imagine a more entertaining vehicle to use for grocery shopping and dropping the kids off at school than this!
