Vintage is making a hot comeback.

A trend that has been heating up among all generations is the vintage kick. It has taken to markets of all kinds and increased sales and demand. Cars and trucks are part of the vintage trend as well, with people investing more and more frequently in older models.

ClassicCars, a car sales website and marketplace, displays the most popular and most searched-for vehicles which change monthly. Their journal recently posted an update about the changing trends as classic Chevrolet trucks were heating up in popularity.

Classic Chevy Models on the Rise

Within the past few decades, the age or year of a car’s model has been a selling factor for people. Nostalgia has contributed to a significant amount of older generations’ purchases. And the vintage aspect of products and cars are selling features for younger generations.

This lines up with the increase in Chevy truck models trending on ClassicCars’ journal website. Since they monitor the makes and models that receive the most searches on their site, they organize it all into a list that shows readers what is currently popular. As of February, Chevy was coming in hot.

The 1985-1987 Chevrolet Silverado models ranked 13th overall in ClassicCars’ list. This is an increase from where Chevy was previously ranking. And with momentum like this, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the Silverado models or other Chevy trucks continued to rise.

From various auctions, specifically in Arizona, the prices may have generated interest in the Silverado models. The Chevy C-10 also frequently makes the top searches as well.

With the rise, car owners will have to look into the best ways to care for their classic truck, since it will have different requirements than a newer model. For instance, removing the vehicle’s surface rust is an important factor for older cars, especially ones who have been well-driven.

As Chevy models and other classic cars grow in sales and demand, prices may go up as well.

The Future of Classic Models

Part of the vintage trend includes pickup trucks and SUVs — they have been growing in popularity for a while now. So, with this rise in Silverado models, it is sure to bring about an even bigger boost in classic trucks. And with it, manufacturers may draw inspiration for newer makes.

This helps along pricing, supply and demand. As more trucks continue to sell, ClassicCars and other re-sellers will have to increase their supply to meet said demand. The trend will most likely only continue to grow, too.

If pricing increases, which it likely will if popularity continues to grow, it may influence the way car companies design and manufacture new cars. If they see re-sellers or other companies profiting from the vintage trend, they may start basing their new models on older aesthetics.

The future will show which way the trends are going, though. So, keep an eye on ClassicCars’ lists to see what will come next. The Silverado may continue to rise alongside other Chevy classics and vintage cars in general.
