Chevy is the Only Reason We Love this Ford Truck!

How do you easily improve any Ford truck? Put a Chevy engine in it!

The Hoonigans are known for featuring some amazing custom vehicles. The guys are mainly known for featuring smaller, donut-worthy performance vehicles, but this time they have something a little more unique. In their recent video, they have an old custom Ford truck, with the heart of a Chevy.

That’s right, this truck looks like a vintage-body F-350 turned into a rally truck beast, but looks can be deceiving. Under the hood, this Ford truck is rocking a LQ9 6-liter Chevy engine with 250 horsepower. The inclusion of the Chevy engine instantly makes this old Ford truck half-way tolerable. The rest of the truck is a cornucopia of aftermarket parts. Honestly, if you didn’t see the body of the truck, you wouldn’t have the slightest clue what model it was. This is clearly a Ford, in name only. However, us Chevy guys know, you put a Chevy engine in a truck, and it’s all Chevy.

As seen in the video, this Ford/Chevy hybrid is perfectly capable of getting some air off a ramp. That is, as much air as a huge truck like that can get. You can clearly see the front tires almost making contact with the ground as the back tires leave the ramp. But hey, it gets the job done! You know what else the truck can do? Donuts. Lots and lots of donuts. As with any Hoonigans video, you can always count on the vehicles to do some crazy donuts in their parking lot.

At the end of the day, it’s unlikely you’ll see many trucks like this out and about in the wild. Ford guys tend to prefer Ford parts. Chevy guys tend to prefer Chevy bodies. However, if brand loyalty isn’t your first priority, then as you can see here, there’s potential to have a lot of fun!
