Canadian driver prepares for second career NASCAR Truck Series start at a very familiar place.

Canadian driver and NASCAR Next graduate Gary Klutt has already dipped his toe in the NASCAR Truck Series. After all, he finished 11th in his pickup debut last season driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports. But now he’s getting his second chance behind the wheel. And it’s at a track that more than a little familiar with: Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Klutt’s second go-round in the NASCAR Truck Series will take place at CTMP over Labor Day weekend. And this time, he’ll be behind the wheel of the #49 Premium Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado. The young driver, who’s in his third season competing in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series, collected his first and only career win at the very same track back in 2015.

Klutt also finished 3rd at CTMP earlier this year in the Pinty’s Series opener. Altogether, he’s collected six top-10 finishes across 10 career starts at the track. All of which means that the young driver should fare well in his return to truck racing. If nothing else, his familiarity with the track seems to have given him a stroke of confidence. And as any budding racer would tell you, that’s a key component for success.

‘I’m excited to be working with Premium Motorsport, and I can’t wait to see how well we can do against the biggest teams in the sport.’

“This has been my favorite weekend of the year for the past two seasons now,” Klutt tells Motorsport. “Last year was such a steep learning curve for me. Being my first time on radial tires and with truck arm suspension, these trucks feel so much different than our Pinty’s cars. So, I’m anxious to get back in one. I’m excited to be working with Premium Motorsport’s crew chief Brian Keselowski, and I can’t wait to see how well we can do against the biggest teams in the sport.”
