GM “Very Confident” 2016 Camaro Will Outperform Ford Mustang
There’s only two constants in life; death and taxes. But when that was originally stated by Benjamin Franklin, the motor car hadn’t been created yet. Were he alive today, there’d be three constants; death, taxes, and muscle car wars.
Since long before I was born, General Motors, Ford, and Dodge have been locked in an eternal game of one-upmanship. In their most recent generations, each brand has a good car in their own rights. Chevrolet has a Camaro is is track-capable. Dodge has a Challenger with 707 horsepower. Ford has the best Mustang to date.
But of the three vehicles, the Camaro is the oldest. It’s big and heavy, whereas the Mustang is light and svelte. But that’s about to change on May 16th, when Chevrolet shows the world the next-generation Camaro at an event in Detroit.
Fox News recently talked with Mark Ruess, VP of Global Product Development at General Motors, and was asked how he feels about the new car’s performance. How confident is he that the new Camaro will be faster, more efficient, and better handling that the 2015 Mustang?
“Very confident,” he said.
I’m sure Ford and Dodge will have something to say about that.
