Miguel Cabrera's Detroit Tigers Chevy to Be Auctioned July 27

Modded, one-of-a-kind Chevrolet truck featured on Diesel Brothers’ Double Header is hitting the auction block to benefit children’s charities.

Detroit Tigers baseman Miguel Cabrera was thrilled when the Diesel Brothers recently outfitted his 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD with a 2016 Cadillac Escalade ESV front clip and Miguel Cabrera/Detroit Tigers-branded detailing. And now, thanks to the famed athlete’s generosity, a lot of deserving children’s charities will be benefitting from this very special, one-of-a-kind truck that was recently featured on the two-part Discovery Channel special Diesel Brothers: The Doubleheader.

“I was excited to have the Diesel Brothers build a truck for me because my grandfather was a mechanic in Venezuela and my dad likes to watch the show,” Cabrera said. “I told Heavy D and Diesel Dave I wanted something big and powerful to auction off to raise money for my foundation.”

That auction is part of the ninth annual “Keeping Kids in the Game” event, which will be hosted by Cabrera on July 27 at Comerica Park in Detroit. During the live auction, Cabrera’s truck will be on display and then sold to help raise money for children’s health and sports programs facilitated by, among others, the Detroit Tigers Foundation and the Miguel Cabrera Foundation.

The fundraiser features exclusive field access and a fireworks show and will host over 200 patients and family members from two local children’s hospitals. The auction will take place at 10 p.m. Interested bidders unable to attend may contact the Detroit Tigers Foundation, and verified bids will be accepted along with live bids placed at the event.
