This Clean 1976 Cosworth Vega’s Gold Wheels and Plaid Seats Scream, “Buy Me!”

There’s a lot of contrast going on here. Gold, black. Sport cloth, plaid. Cosworth, Vega. All of it rolls up into a pretty cool little special edition time capsule from 1976. This example, found on Bring a Trailer, is an extremely clean version of the hatchback that only has a few minor tweaks that aren’t original.

Between 1975 and 1976, only 3,500 Cosworth Vegas were built. This, as seen on the plate, is No. 2,541 and it only has about 75,000 miles on the clock. Under the hood is an aluminum 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. That’s paired with a five-speed Borg Warner transmission.

If you’re wondering how the paint looks so great, it’s because it’s been resprayed. It also has a bit of a window tint, and the stock radio has been swapped out for a Sony unit. Other than that, this thing is in solid shape, complete with that awesome plaid interior, a recent service, and new tires.
