Unreal 454-Powered 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 is a Menacing Machine

Under the hood of this 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle 300, we find a 454ci powerplant that gets a Holley Street Brawler four-barrel carburetor.

The Chevelle is one of the most iconic Chevrolet nameplates of the 60s. Back in the day, this muscle car was one of Chevy’s most sought-after offerings alongside the Corvette and Camaro. Earlier last month, an exquisite Chevrolet Chevelle 300 restomod was sold by a popular auction website, Bring a Trailer. According to the listing, the two-door sedan received an elaborate refurbishment before the seller acquired it in July 2021.

The car gets a slew of custom parts. This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 sedan flaunts a menacing black paint job. The car’s door handles, and side mirrors were also powder coated to match the bodywork. A pair of silver-finished bumpers and a matching grille offer a striking contrast to the murdered-out bodywork.

This Chevrolet Chevelle restomod also gets Optronics LED headlights complete with daytime running lights and indicators. Under the hood of this beast, we find a 454 cubic inch motor that gets a Holley Street Brawler four-barrel carburetor. Other performance upgrades include rectangular-port cylinder heads, an HEI distributor, and an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake manifold.

The powerplant of this Chevrolet Chevelle 300 restomod hooks up to a Tremec TKO five-speed manual gearbox.

The gearbox sends power to the rear wheels, where we find a Ford 9″ rear end. A Flowmaster 2.5-inch dual exhaust is also part of the ensemble. The vibrant interior of this muscle car restomod offsets its dark bodywork. Inside the cabin, red vinyl adorns the front and rear bench seats. The car’s door panels and dash pad also match the eye-catching color scheme of the red vinyl seats.

Even though the digital odometer shows 260 miles, the actual mileage of this Chevrolet Chevelle 300 restomod remains unknown. The car also gets Billet Specialties’ 14 inch-flat bottom steering wheel and a Dakota Digital VHX instrumentation display.

The car rides on a set of 17-inch steel wheels which also flaunt a black finish. Sumitomo HTR A/S P03 tires envelop the steel rims, which come complete with Chevrolet branded hubcaps. At the auction that ended on March 31st, this 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 sold for $63,000.
