Default 1996 gmc c1500 4.3

Looking to pick your brains with my 96 c1500 4.3 Googled around many seem to have a similar issue but no solutions.

Picked it up from an old man original owner from new with 118k on it (canada).

Been going through the entire truck and pretty much replacing everything. All new brakes front and rear, reman nv3500 as it had syncro issues on the 2-3 shift. Replaced, plugs, wires, cap, rotor,
fuel pump, water pump, alternator, all tensioner belts etc.

Since i have had the truck when going up a steeper incline you can feel a slight surge. Like a miss, but if you put your foot into it will go away. Just driving around in the city it’s fine zero issues.

There are is no CEL, no codes. I had a slight cat rattle that went away. Will be replacing the cat only not the entire Assembly as it’s stupid money here. But I know that won’t be the issue.

People that have had the same issue threw in new spider injectors and didn’t fix the same issue I have.

I replaced the coil today but didn’t fix it on the test drive. I have a new TPS. Seem to be in spec although at lights, sometime it will rev around 1200-1600 and take a 4-5 seconds before it goes down to 500rpm. I am going to swap the sensor next. Some people also mentioned the Crank sensor, but doubt it’s that. Timing is not the issue as I checked it, fuel pressure is in spec, no vacuum leaks, maf is good.

If the TPS doesn’t correct it, anyone have the same issue I have and what SOLVED it. Really hate throwing parts into it as I’m more a diag Locate and repair.

Nice Looking pickup. Might put Techron Complete or Seafoam down the gas tank. Take it out on a safe road, and punch it. Chevy changed to a better injection system as the poppet valve FI were prone to issues, including using cheap gasoline.

it had seafoam a while ago and it currently has a full tank of 94 octane from chevron no difference. I’ve done a bunch of WOT (wide open throttle)

Does it have a throttle position sensor? Could be, as you describe it pulls up the hill with more throttle. It could be the tps sensor the wiper is worn, and it doesn't know the accelerator position, just a guess.

It might well be your MAP sensor. Have you read any OBD II codes yet?

Map is clean. The problem with this rabbit hole is there isn’t any codes. An I’m using our snapon scan tool.

With that, are the hose/connectors intact?
