Default 1996 parking lights

Just came into a 96 tahoe with some electrical issues. All turn signals, headlights, tail lights and brake lights work. I have no front parking lights or drl. Fuses are good, I have constant power to orange wire at switch and have power to brown wire when switch is on so switch is fine. I pulled light bulb out of corner light (one with 2 wires) and have ground at both terminals. Any one have any ideas where to look?

Are you sure the taillights are working and it's not the brake lights you're seeing? In the fuse panel at the left end (driver's side) of the dash, is fuse #9 blown?

The switch is not necessarily fine. They mess up internally.

There is a DRL relay down on the firewall to the left of the brake pedal. It's the bottom center relay (see attached pdf). That might be it if fuse #9 is not blown.

You can't chase ground through the light wiring unless you remove EVERY bulb because it will show ground back through the light filament. So, even the little bulbs in the power window & lock switches, etc. will allow continuity to ground. (You don't have to remove those, you just have to unplug their wiring connector. Good luck getting to it.)

On that note, a common problem that blows #9 fuse is the door wiring in the gap between the body and door, and I had a short inside the door where one of the switch light wires was up against the bracket that holds the window track.
