I have a 97 Silverado 2500 4x4 7.4 4l80e (trans lines are close together) I bought it with a bad trans but the trans is brand new and painted now then first thing I had an issue with was the neutral safety switch there are no bolt holes to hold it down so it just floating freely and turning with every gear change also it has a long shift shaft I do when I removed the pan it had tiny chunks of metal in it and black liquid that felt like water when I run my hands threw it. my last issue is someone rewired a different harness to it last owner said ran but randomly stopped working. My thinking is they ordered a trans online and it came with a new harness it ticks when it’s in reverse but worse when it’s in drive it doesn’t let me upload videos or photos if you’d like more details msg me or I’ll pass you more info
