Default 2013 Trans issue, question before I take it to a shop...

Hey, so history and story.

Rad tank seal went and emptied my rad. So I replaced it. of course my rad has the trans cooler in it. So while I was disconnecting those lines one developed a hole that went unnoticed until I was already about 30 mins away from home. Stoped at a local shop and got some generic atf. Filled and drove home by the time I got home the Trans was empty (on dip stick) again. Replaced line and filled with proper fluid. Now third slips real bad, I have to hold it at 3000 rpm or floor it to redline and let off for it to shift into 4th. Once in 4th it won't shift in to od of 5th I'm not sure which one it is. Haven't confirmed yet but I believe I have the 4L60E Trans.

My hydraulic experience has me hoping there is an air bubble in an accumulator or a passage way that's not allowing 3rd gear to build full pressure and thale same in 4th to kick to the next gear. Does this make sense or am i into a rebuild? The truck ran fine and had 0 trans issues untill this leak ran thenoil out. Im hoping its as simple as getting a flush and fill done, but i accept the idea i may be screwed.

Any advice or am I just boned on a trans rebuild here?

Do not get a flush done on your Chevy.

so, thanks for replying but..... could you at least tell me why rather than just saying dont?

It essentially has had a flush already as all the atf sprayed out of the broken line, so I have essentially flushed it already. Soooooo. Thebinly difference would be hopefully using pressure to remove potential air lock in the system?

There are two ways to flush an auto-trans. One can cause many issues. The other is the right way, but as you said, its already flushed, in a manner of speaking. I am no expert on auto tyranny's (if you ever have A/C issues, I'm an expert at that.)
