90 k1500 5.7l no fuel no spark no start
I started my truck the other day and it ran fine for about 30 seconds then just died.
I have checked for power at the ignition coil, tested the ignition coil came back at 8500 ohms
I replaced the ignition module as I cant test the units internals with a meter, found power at the IM
I inspected the cap and rotor both are less than 6 months old and apear to be in good condition
wires are less than 6 months old
I tested the pickup coil it tests at 832 ohms with no grounding to the dist. body
I replaced the fuel pump relay and checked the fuse for the fuel pump which tests good
I checked each fuse in the fuse panel all test good
I ran diag, on the computer it comes back code 12 NO CODE
I was looking at the elect diag and for my year it shows a grey wire comming form the fuel pump relay going to the fuel pump but on my truck that wire apears to be pink which might indicate that the wireing harness might be from a 96? I know that the engine was replaced 4 years ago by the previous owner but I would not expect the harness to be changed out too.
Ideas?

I know you tested the ignition coil, but my recommendation is to pull it, and replace it. Yes it's a b1tch, but if the insulation is anything not perfect, this is what issue you will have. Pickup coil
In the wiring harness on the firewall, there is a single pin connector on a tan/black wire (may have to open looming). This is the spark output control circuit from the PCM. Unplugging the connector removes computer control from being able to advance the spark timing. If you unplug it and the truck starts (or at least tries to start), you need start chasing the wiring back to the PCM to ensure it’s receiving the signals it needs to provide spark and fuel injector pulse.
I can provide the necessary wiring information if unplugging the spark output (SPOUT) circuit proves successful.
Also, is this a manual or automatic transmission? It could be an issue of the PNP switch not working properly.

i have a new distibutor that I am going to try to install today, did not want to change the pickup coil
I'll have a look at that connector too

beend working long hours lately and have not had a chance to replace the distributor yet I believe at this time it is the next logical replacement.
have had to put off replacing the distributor due to work. I finally got to it today and once I got the dist. clamp undone and the dist. rotated a piece of the cast iron casting inside the pickup coil assembly fell out...
truck is back up and running now
thanks for the help guys.
