Default 95 gmc sierra K1500 to 96 gmc sierra K1500 full body swap

First time i’ve posted in this forum but figured this would be the best place to find the info i’m looking for

so i’ve got a 1995 gmc sierra K1500 manual, and i’ve recently purchased a 1996 gmc sierra K1500 auto with no motor and I'm looking to put the full body (front clip, cab, and box) of the 96 onto the 95 chassis,

fully confident and capable in the body swap and manual swap side of things just not the wiring side of things

i know the 96 are the first year of vortec.

I will be keeping the TBI 5.0l with the manual in the 95 so i know i need to keep that harness with the engine but I’m unsure of what else will be involved as the 96 is a power interior model, which i would like to keep.

Am i going to need a whole new custom wire harness or can i connect the new 96 cab harness to the 95 engine harness and so on?

will these harnesses need to be spliced together?

what other difference’s do i need to watch out for and be aware of?

any help would be greatly appreciated as i’m unsure as to how big of a pain the wiring side of things is going to be?

hopefully the main questions i have here are clear enough.

The vehicle wiring diagrams for both year models are available on charm.li, if you dig around. There are probably a couple dozen pages of wiring diagrams to compare, but I won't be surprised if you need to do some splicing to get the interior stuff working.

Yeah now that it is back up I downloaded a ZIP of the manual for each of the vehicles I own, or that any of my kids own, just to have on hand in case Charm goes down again...
