96305 Vortec is ill
Hi there to everyone.I bought a 96 GMC 4x4 it has a305 vortex motor that is not revving past 3500 rpm.This is the current condition .A couple of backfires on last start up.Brief history of the motor....When I purchased the truck motor would not run at all...So I pulled all plugs most 6/8 oil soaked....Gas with Seafoam was in the crankcase...like lots...So what I done so for has been all new plugs ,rotor &cap .,wires looked good.Clean pvc. Valve....New air cleaner, cleaned mass air flow sensor.Check engine light is on but at least it is ideling new oil also.A couple backfires means?? That's all I could handle for tonight.But I would like some direction or insight from some more seasoned mechanics than myself ...Thank you for letting me vent...Any suggestions very appreciated..
