I just replaced the starter on my 97 GMC Yukon 5.7 Vortec before I replace the starter when I would go to try to start the engine it was scrub and make all kind of noises until it got to a certain spot on the flywheel then it will crank I got under the truck the check out the starter and notice both bolts or broke off in the block I can only get one bolt out and realized there was an extra bolt hole in the back so I used a high torque racing starter whatever I put it on I turn the key trying to crank it and all I got was the starter spinning somebody please help

 

Welcome from Florida. Check to see if your racing starter installed in a different bolt hole meshes with the flywheel. Also check the flywheel for damaged teeth.
