97 k1500

hello, I have a 1997 k1500 with push button 4x4. The 4x4 engages but the light just blinks. I jacked up the right front and it is locking in. I think it had the older actuator at one time and someone changed out the front and rear diffs. The one they put in does not have the place for front axle switch so the tccm is not getting the signal saying it is locked in. Is there a way I can tap into the new style actuator plug and make the light stay lit when in 4x4?
