I have noticed latley that it has been getting harder and harder to open my door from the inside on my 98 pickup. To get the door to open, I have to pull back on the handle all the way, and it is so far that it is now touching the trim peice. I heard once that all you need to do is replace the handle, is that correct? My father had a work truck just like my truck, but his door handles where always broken so I don’t know, even though I have worked on these doors more than I care to remember. Any advice welcome, thank you.

 

You are going to have to remove the door panel and examine everything for wear. It could be several things, probably the lock mechanism.
