Default 97 k1500 5.7 carburetor swap

Hello everyone. I put an Edelbrock performer 600 carb with MANUEL choke on my 97 k1500 pickup. I need to figure out how to get the 4l60e transmission to shift. I seen where Holley makes a TPS kit that will go on their Holley carburetor that will control the transmission shifting. They say You have to have a Holley carb with an automatic choke to use it on. To do that I would have to buy a new Holley carburetor too. Can't really afford that. I watched a video on YouTube titled "Getting 96 up 4l60e to shift" that was very good at showing how to use the Holley one to work.
I'm wondering, if I made a bracket to mount the TPS from my motor, on the end of the throttle shaft on my Manual choke Edelbrock carb If it would work the same, even though it doesn't have an Automatic choke.
Any help I can get would be much appreciated.

Thank you
