Default crank no start

hey all, i’ve got a 1997 k1500 5.7 i was driving down the mountain, i had it in third engine breaking a little, i get to the bottom of the hill and the truck dies like it ran out of gas, we got it towed home, have no codes because battery died, we are getting spark, fuel, and compression, but it won’t fire no matter what, even on spray, fuel smells normal and plugs get wet, everytime we check they spark though, i just put head gaskets in it and gaskets from there up and has 60k on it, i don’t understand why it’s not starting. it’s also got a new crank position sensor in it

Hey, Good Buddy! Welcome to the forum.

Some of these problems are a pain to diagnose, and I just came off a small engine problem like this, so I totally sympathize.

However, you must be a little clearer on what's going on. Please explain the steps you've taken and the reason for doing them.

It sounds like you did some major engine overhaul steps. Why?

Does the spark look good when grounding out a spark plug? Did you try starter fluid? Did you check out and recharge the battery? What is the compression PSI reading?

The idea of spark (ignition), fuel (fuel/air mixture) and compression are correct key elements, but the spark must be strong enough and the fuel/air mixture must be the correct mix and amount.

Starter fluid is more likely to ignite easily because it is more flammable. The spark must come in at the proper time, so even if it is strong but firing at the wrong time, there may be a problem at that stage. Also, the adjustment of the valves may need to be checked.
