Default How to put 4wd into neutral

I have a 1997 K2500 that I need to tow. How do I put the transfercase into neutral? It's the push button style, but with only 3 buttons - 2HI, 4HI, and 4LO. There's no neutral, or even a neutral light like I've seen some button shifters have. So how do I do it?

yep...if there was a way it would say in the owner manual. if the tcase has no neutral remove the dshaft. you might be able to dolley tow it will the back wheels on the dolley in 2wd.

its should all be detailed in the owners manual.

Might seem a silly question but why would you need to put transfer case into neutral to tow?

if you dingy tow with the trans in neutral for this vehicle...the trans bearings will be oil starved and you will damage the transmission. putting the tcase in neutr4al will stop the driveshaft from turning the transmission output shaft.

The 'dingy tow' got me, I thought you were towing a boat. So what is a 'dingy tow'? I'm in UK so still coming to terms with some of the US terminology. Thanks.
