Question HVAC control wire harness

I removed the old and installed a new(er) dashboard in my dad's 98 GMC K1500. It's all back together, I cannot find WHERE THE HELL the wire harness for the HVAC Controls plugs into??? Its a gray connector with 8 wires. The wires run from two small connectors that plug into the temperature control ***** the 3 switches on the dashboard. and the other side of it is this gray 8 wire connector.

Does anyone know where it plugs into???

How new is the unit you installed? Past 1999 lot of things were changed from a 88-98 GMT including the 5.3 liter motor.

I just changed the hard plastic shell, and upper skin. everything else is original to the truck. whatever I took off and unplugged went back into the new shell. I just do not know where that one last wire harness plugs into. I don't know if its someplace toward the blower motor, up under the heater core box or to the left closest to the steering column. Its only about 12" long.

Does the unit work without the wiring not plugged in? You may have to look all about the underside of the dash, assuming it does not operate,

The unit works, the blower works however, the airflows only to the floor. the direction of the airflow doesn't change, the temperature does not change. I just can see where this harness plugs into I don't know if I'm looking for another wire and herness to connect to or if it should plug into the box assembly of the blower, heater core and evaporator?

I would guess one of the Acutators isn't working myself.
