Default Insight 1994 Chevy k2500

Was someone else's project truck, I've barely had time to drive it or work on it either. No trades, need the cash. Its a 94 K2500 extended cab 8ft bed. 115k miles, 454 big block, rectangle port heads, roller tip rocker arms, headers, 10.1 compression comp cam. NV4500 manual tranny, 4.88 gears, rear detroit locker, Skyjacker lift kit plus 3inch body lift.

Bad

According to previous owner front diff gears not set right, rear sliding window leaks, needs new plug wires, sagging headliner. Read Less

-description from current seller, just wanting more knowledge of the truck and opinions on buying it just looking for a solid truck for work, options on the gears not being set correctly big problem or no? Also common problems with these types of truck. I’m more of a all around Duramax guy I know a lot more about all the years and common problems and difference not much knowledge of most gassers except newer ones.115k miles

Those 4.88 gear ratios are OK if you drive off-road a lot or snow plow, but its going to decrease your gas mileage, particularly with a 454 cubic inch motor. Headliners can be fixed with spray adhesive, the plug wires are cheap and easy no problem. Is the front axle same ratio as rear? Do you hear any noise from front axle? Yeah, setting up the axles takes some expertise.

if the gear are not matching i would think about swapping the rear axle to the same as the front that way theyre not so high.
