Odometer not working

I have a 1988 Silverado 5.7 the speedometer works but the odometer does not any suggestions on how to repair it.

I think they al work on the same signal so if only 1 isn't working it looks like a mechanical problem, so probably a plastic cog that is worn out. Just open it up and check it out.
