Default Please Help!! 4l60e 4wd to 4l60e 4wd

I have a 1997 chevrolet c1500 (2wd) and a 2000 silverado 5.3 4wd can I make the 00' 4wd 4l60e a 2wd it's staying with the 5.3 motor. Or should I just fine a new one and sell both of them. I'm not looking for a lot of work or a make it work type a situation I have enough going on with the motor swap I just wanna be able to stuck it in. So I've read in the past you can remove the tailshaft on the 4l60e in 97-01 4.3 and make a 4wd 2wd. I don't know how true that is but if it is does the same go for 2000 from a 5.3?

Is there something wrong with the transmission in the 2000?

What’s the reasoning for wanting to change it? The transmission is the same as the 97 so it’ll mate correctly with the engine.

There’s a lot of variables involved with this type of change, so I don’t recommend it unless you really want or have to make the swap.
