I have a 94 GMC K1500 suburban at times it will randomly go into neutral when either driving or sitting with motor running changing gears someone recommended neutral safety switch but I'm not sure transmission is fine on the trucks good days it will shift through all gears flawlessly.

 

The neutral safety switch prevents you from starting the vehicle in gear. And it can cause a no crank issue.
