Default Runs great, but timing will not set

I am getting p1345 code for crank/cam correlation.i did not have this code prior to replacing the distributor...now the timing is -20 can retard with old and new distributor. Took the truck to 2 different mechanics to have timing set and they can’t get it lower than -20.

Any ideas on what else could cause this issue?

The truck starts and runs great!

Is it maxed out as far as won't go any further? Pull the distributor, and rotate it one gear. That will give you a little more base movement

I have tried that, multiple teeth in both directions ... I’m wondering if the code means something other than timing

I read some where that when the distributor is removed it has to be re-calibrated usually at dealer don't remember what year that pertains to.
