02 Chevy 1500 A/C not working!
I have this 02 chevy 1500 with the 5.3l haven't had any problems till now it's has 305k miles on it. The a/c for about 3-4 months would only turn on if the trucks ac was off then when you start it and wait for it to idle down then turn the ac on it will work only while idling, then when you were driving it would randomly turn off. I replaced the low pressure and high pressure switch/sensor, nothing happened, checked all fuses nothing was blown, I could get the compressor to kick on only with a paper clip to basically trick it, checked the freon it was good sitting at 40 psi. But ever since that it has been a week and still can't get compressor to kick on, and it's not locked up can turn it with hand. Now when I go to turn the ac on when idling the rpm's would go up to about 900 then it will idle back down to 600 rpm but nothing turns on, heater works just no cold air. Anyone know what it could be?
