Hello everyone, over the last couple of weeks I've been getting the service engine light and the P0200 code on my scanner. So I figured there might be some sediment in my injectors. I bought Lucas fuel injector cleaner and the service engine light did go off, but later returned, but yesterday the service engine light started flickering for a few minutes then stopped. Should I try sea foam or something better ? Or would I have something more to be concerned with ? Any advice on this issue would be great, so I have a little more insight on this matter before I take it to the mechanic. Thanks and happy holidays
The P0200 is telling you that there is a problem with the fuel injection electrical circuit. It could be a broken wire, a loose wire, a connector has come unplugged, the insulation could have worn off one or more wires and those wires are grounding out, an injector might be defective, etc. It DOES NOT say that the fuel injectors are dirty.
You can find the electrical schematics for the fuel injection system (as well as other engine systems) at https://charm.li/Chevrolet/2002/
Thanks for replying, actually saw a friend of mine who is a mechanic and he said the same thing. I just figured a dirty injector possibly made the light come lol. I'll definitely check out the link. Thank you !
