Default 2004 2500hd w/t radio

Okay so I am in need of some guidance here, I have an 04 Silverado 2500hd that’s as base as base gets, no power options at all and manual trans and transfer case, 6.0 gas but has cruise. P/o put a Sony radio in the truck what looks like years ago and now it’s faded and the buttons do not work, so I put a new boss unit in, used the pac interface for the chin that was already there and I have no sound, removed the interface still zero sound, changed head units still no sound, I can unplug that head unit, plug it into my 95 and have sound, but none in the 04 no matter what of the different 3 units still NO SOUND
please help lol I’m losing it

One cannot just install a radio in these vehicles like in the old days. What it looks like is that you will need a new interface harness that goes between the radio and the truck's internal computer/modules communication system. Without the "blessing" of the Body Control Module, the radio will not work right.

I suggest you go to crutchfield.com and see what is needed for the installation of your new radio. Crutchfield is THE expert for things like this.

Good Luck!

I just installed one in my 2005 silverado, I had to run a separate ignition rather then the one in the truck wiring harness the red ignition wire in your truck will not have 12 volts on it , so i ran a fuse tap to the ignition side of the fuse box and it now has power to the new stereo.
I replaced the GM factory radio.
Hope this helps.
