Default 2004 Glovebox latch

2004 Silverado HD2500.
Glove box latch is kind of broken. It's, sort of, hung sticking OUT.
I'm a little hesitant to force it to do anything because it feels like it'll break and when it does, well...the door will just stay down.
Is this a dealership fix? Or can I just get one from ebay or somewhere and simply replace myself.
Thanks.

Did you ever find a fix for this? My glove box won't close - it's as if the latch is frozen inside the panel. FYI, it's a 1999 Silverado NBS

Thanks!

You can get them on Ebay or the junk yard. The U Pick junk yards are cheaper. I bought one several years ago on Ebay.

Thanks. Got the mechanism freed up by working the handle and the latch. I did find parts on ebay for it should it happen again.

Again, thanks!
