Trouble shooting my truck after an attempted theft last week. In the process of replacing the tumbler - but I think that will be pretty straight forward.
Question for everyone on the triggering of the car alarm. I've noticed that if I enable the alarm, but open the door manually (either from being inside the car after arming, or through an open window) , the alarm no longer goes off. But the panic button on the remote still triggers the alarm.
Is it possible a fuse has been removed from the car? I searched under the dash, nothing looks unplugged or cut.
I can try and help since I just went through trying to figure out how to prevent these trucks/suv from getting stolen so easy by punching the door locks. Looking at the wiring diagrams I don't see any fuses dedicated to the alarm since it's handled by the BCM. Couple questions, when you tested did you wait about 15 seconds for the alarm to arm? Did the security light on the dash light up then go out? Also, can you tell how the thief entered the vehicle?

I did wait for the alarm to arm, but it did not go off “audibly” only the dash icon goes off.
The security light on the dash blinks, but no sound from the horn goes off.
I believe the thief entered the vehicle from the drivers side door. No alarm went off, but I’m certain the door was locked. I believe a blank/common key was used to get into the truck side door.
