You have at least three options. But for a really good result it is desirable to combine them.
1 - dry cleaning, namely vacuum cleaner.
2 - Wet cleaning - thoroughly rinse with a good detergent for padding with water.
3 - once a month to take the car to the cleaning.

Now - more. If you use a vacuum cleaner - forget about small hand vacuum cleaners for cars. They just do not have enough power. It's best to use your home vacuum cleaner with a sofa set. Approximately once every six months, I remove the front seats and carefully disassemble them from dust. you can not even imagine how much it's going to be there. It is best to use vacuum cleaners with an aqua filter, as they can be used even for freshly washed upholstery. (I have such) But really degree of efficiency depends exclusively on capacity of a vacuum cleaner and length of a hose.

As for washing, I think there should not be many questions, it's up to you to choose a tool, because I do not know what smell you like. (and it will be very strong because the car is still a small limited space and for the first few weeks I have a very smell of oranges after washing in the salon)

Well, you can take a look at the video about cleaning - it's quite detailed tells how to do it at home.

Any carpet shampoo should work.

My husband always buys special car shampoos and lotions. I have no clue why in the world they are more expensive than any other cleaning supplies but are less effective. So, I convinced him to switch to the all-purpose cleaners, which proved to work better. In general, this whole industry of "car care" is outrageously expensive. So here is another life hack for you, instead of going to the car wash, go to a carpet cleaning service. Most of them are cleaning cars too, for less money and the same result. I usually go to anycarpet cleaners Wandsworth. See, even a housewife can teach you something!
