Default Flat deck wiring

Hi all

I have built a steel flat deck for my '03 1500HD and am in the process of wiring up some lighting

I bought 4 wire Amazon STT (Stop, Turn, Tail) lights on the back and on the rack to accommodate the 4 wire factory harness at the frame...

My questions are:

1 - I terminated all of the grounds from the tail light housing into a larger gauge single wire, that goes into the new harness that runs on the flat deck? is that the right way to do it?

2 - I am having an issue with 5v being on the brake circuit, but only when the key is in the run position (engine on or off), nothing is on the circuit when the key is off. 12v is there when the brake is pushed

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Did you fix this? Ideally each light would have a seperate path to ground, so that the resistance is lower for each light, though any resistance would be minimal.

You're getting 5 volts all the time? is there an issue that this is causing; or are you more worried about the voltage being there at all?

Still having this issue, I wouldn't have noticed the 5 volts but the lights I installed on the rack came on when I turned the key for first time. The lights on the back of the truck don't come on, even tho they are tied to the same circuit.
I was curious if it's a grounding issue, I might pull the ground from the brake light circuit (if I can find it) and try terminating it alone from the rest.

I can't seem to find anything on how to wire this up correctly when installing a flat deck
