Default How to test start an 2001 w/o the key

Hey everybody, I am looking at a 2001 parts truck from a local wrecker yard. I would like to test start the truck but they don't the key. Is there a way to do this? Thanks for any help!!

You'd have to get power to the ignition, injectors, fuel pump, ECM and jump the starter solenoid. Not sure if that's possible if it has a security system. I sure wouldn't risk your own battery and alternator on this project, however.

If it's only for parts...

I tried this method and it just broke the ring off of the lock cylinder. I had to spend about 30 minutes with a drill to get all of the pins out so a screwdriver would turn the lock cylinder. You'll have to get a pick or something to push the lock bar up and in so it allows the cylinder to turn.
