Default Hvac issues

I'm really hoping someone can shed light on a continuous problem I'm having with my 04 silverado. In the past 6 months I have had to have the climate control unit replaced 4 times because it keeps going out. I have taken it to the chevy dealership and had all the work done but yet it keeps going out and they are apparently not finding the problem. Luckily for me the unit is under warranty but it's getting very annoying and I need to find out what's going on. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

legally you can take it elsewhere and force them to pay for it, since they refuse to fix it. but enforcement is so weak these days they might just laugh and not pay.

you'd have to find the wiring diagram and see what the controls are connected to. but between that and the BCM (body control module) are connectors. someone who is scamming you will leave connectors "not fully clipped in", knowing it will cause another come back (which for them: means getting paid)

you could have bad radio wiring, bad ground between controls and BCM, incorrect module installed for your VIN. IDK. it's definitely somethign that is not simple.

you didn't get the radio/audio system "upgraded" did you? radio wiring is kinda infamous for issues behind the dash - even temperature control.

you need your hands on a failed temp. ctrl. unit from your car, if it ever fails again. bench test it if possible. you don't know if just plugging / unplugging the panel is just as good as replacing it with a new one, do you? if so - then certainly it is resetting a problem on the other side.

but if the temp control unit is going bad - then either some person is treating the controls harshly or there are electrical problems causing the units to go bad.

all pretty obvious sorry i can't say more
