I am in desperate need of someone smarter than me to help me with my 2005 Silverado 1500 instrument lights. The backlighting behind the gauges have stopped working. I have removed, disassembled and checked the board in the cluster 5 times with a powerful lighted jewelers magnifying light, searching for cracked or broken solder. I have no problem with the warning lights,PRNDL or information panel, just the backlighting. All fuses concerning the panel have been replaced with new ones and I have had the dashboard almost totally out looking for bad wiring. My ignition switch has been a little rough for about a year but not extreme. I blew a heater hose at the fire wall about the same time I noticed no backlighting, but I don’t drive this truck a lot at night. I have gone around the truck and replaced any bulbs not working (saw a YouTube video it could be a cause).Still no lights... any ideas for me to try since I can’t work on my old classic car in the rain?
