Default New Silverado owner, laundry list of questions.

Just picked up a 2004 Silverado. It has a few issues. If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it.
  • Can anyone tell me the thread pitch and length of the screw that holds up the overhead console? Mine is missing and the console is hanging from one end.
  • All of the speakers are gone except the little tweeters in the front doors. Can anyone tell me the proper replacements?
  • Does anyone know of a video of how to remove a rear door panel on the crew cab? Back window won't move up or down though I can hear the motor.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I can’t say with absolute certainty, but most of the time, anything secured to the ceiling is done so with basic, black finish sheet metal screws, size #8 or #10. If it’s already hanging, I’d recommend removing it entirely and checking that all the snap clips are still there. While it’s out, you can take the screw to a hardware store and match it up.

No idea on speakers. If you’re not looking for anything special, rockauto.com has several options.

See diagram below for door panel removal (diagram is for the left panel but the right side is the same). There’s 3 screws - lower front corner, one behind the reflector (outside edge should come out with a small screwdriver or panel tool) and one behind a cover in the handle bezel - you’ll see a small reveal to insert a tool and pop the cover off. Once those screws are out, release the snap clips with a panel tool, screwdriver or small prybar (some can be tricky so be cautious that you don’t miss any). After the snap clips are loose, lift up on the panel as there are 2 hooks on the bottom that slide into position.

I would recommend finding matching aftermarket speakers. The dealer will bone you good,$$$$-wise, for the cheap, plastic and cardboard OEM crap. You can get a decent set of JBLs, Jensons, Sonys,or JVCs for far less, and they will sound far better. If your original (usually double DIN) radio is still working, all the better, then you don't have to worry about replacing it, but if you do, be sure to get a package with a dataport adapter, and a very clear set of wiring instructions.

Use Crutchfield . com to find speakers that work.
