Default Oil Pressure shake at idle after fully warm

Hey guys,

New to the forum, and new to Chevy. Recently picked up an 02 2500hd with the 6.0 and I love it but there is 1 issue I am a little confused on.

At cold start, all until it's fully warm, I have high and steady oil pressure at idle ranging from ~60 to 40, respectively.
However, once I reach fully operational engine temperature after 10 minutes or so of driving, at idle I notice my engine oil gauges shakes between 35 and 40psi combined with a subtle engine shake.

I haven't found too much about this on my searches, except for one post that some suggested its the oil sending unit below the air intake. Other than that, I've found no other information.

I appreciate any and all input on what the underlying issue may be, and/or a remedy to solve the issue.

Do you have a check engine light? What I read is the engine "shakes" causing the oil pressure to "blip".

Does the rpm drop when this happens?

I have a 2000 with a 5.7 and an 01 6.0 that both do that. I've thought about changing the sensor but sort of a PITA on either one of them that I've gotten used to the idea that the needle vibrates.

You posted the engine also has a subtle shake when that happens.

Thanks for the reply Kevin.

I have 2 check engine lights, one for bank 1 O2 sensor. The other for knock sensor bank 1. Have had these both since I bought the truck.
The RPM's do not drop, idle stays perfectly steady around 650-700.
Subtle shake to the point where if you weren't paying much attention, you may not notice it. It is very subtle -- but to me, I notice every little thing about my truck, and it's present maybe every 5 seconds just a small vibration that to me is clearly coming from the engine.
