Default Proper name for "white plastic do-dads!"

On my 99 suburban with a tail gate, there is a white plastic, spring loaded slide above the latching pin on both sides mounted to the body. Both of mine are broken. Thought it would be easy to identify them since they are stamped with a GM part number - 20083696 and 20083695. After numerous searches, the part numbers come up empty. Looking at parts diagrams produced no results as well. After 4 hours of research, including searching the forums, I have given up. Maybe if I knew what the proper term for these "tensioning" devices were, I would have better success. I am assuming that there sole function is to keep the tail gate from rattling.

Appreciate any input, thanks

You probably will have to go to the dealer.

Jim,
I have the same problem here in 2022 now. Did you ever resolve your quest? I cannot find these items either, after an exhaustive search. It seems the part is variously called" End Gate Bumper Body Side or Rear Tailgate Bumper Tension Spring. Anything you can share would be appreciated.

You might get lucky at the junk yards and find some good ones.

i have a brand new set of these - I owned Suburbans from 1986 to 2020, and ordered them for one of those vehicles years ago. I was about to put them on ebay.
Anyone interested?
