Default Question

I have a 2000 chevy 1500

Anyone have any ideas on everything I should replace if I want to rebuild it?
It's already got a swapped motor with 130k miles
I replaced the upper control arms and ball joints, the inner and outer tie rod ends. I have the new pitman arm, idler arm and control bracket, and I will be replacing lower control arm with ball joint and stabilizer bar links (sway bar links)

I would like to keep my truck running and keep it going for awhile anyone have any ideas on what I should go for next?

Welcome to the forum from Florida. What kind of driving do you do to wear out all of these suspension/steering parts?

Well for starters I drive just about 55 on highway and speeding up real slow because fuel mileage is a big factor. But it is a truck that already has 230k miles on the body of it and transmission, it runs and drives pretty good, 4wd works good. I've owned it a little over a year, they were all the original parts on the truck so I didn't wear them out really they've been wearing since factory.

I live in Florida and have had older trucks with a lot of mileage on them that weren't that badly worn. maybe the previous owner ran it very hard?

Have you thoroughly inspected the frame to make sure there’s no heavily rusted areas? The crossmembers supporting the fuel tank and spare tire are at the highest risk (I’ll share some pictures later).

I’m an auto mechanic and I live in Iowa so I’m well aware of the frame and suspension issues related to these trucks in the Midwest. If you haven’t thoroughly inspected and/or made plans to repair the frame, don’t put any more money into it until you do.

That was the first thing I checked, I did not find any heavily rusted frame areas, I searched every spot inside and out and it all looks pretty good, the underside is mainly surface rust and even the exhaust and rest of underside has like no rust, So underneath its not all rusted out or anything.

Good. I’ve only done this repair once. I’d do it again on my own time, but I’ll never figure out why a customer paid to fix this 1999....

Ooof thats horrid lol I bought my truck as a 1 owner from some older couple who bought it new in 2000 and then they bought a newer suburban. it wasnt a bad deal, 130k on motor, nice leather seats for like 2k and a nice paint matched topper, they definitely didnt keep up on maintenance for parts such as tie rod ends and stuff though like it drove good but the parts definitely were bad especially the balljoints after I took it out the balljoints were so loose could move em around barely touching em.
