Default Stalling Hitting Bumps

2005 Chevy 2500HD Regular Cab - 85K miles

Has anyone experienced stalling out when hitting the slightest bump in the road? I have an ABS and parking brake light on at all times now, but no check engine light - only when I hit a bump in the road the check engine light flashes and the truck loses power. I let my my foot off the gas and then the truck continues to go. I'm not getting any codes and even when I'm connected while driving, the truck loses all communication. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated?

It could be a corroded or partially broken wire somewhere. It might be a bad relay too. Possibly in your fly-by-wire throttle body loom, if it loses power or the throttle control itself. It is a 15-year-old vehicle, and things tend to go south at that age even at 85k on the odometer.

Thanks, I'll look into that! Any suggestions on searching for a broken or corroded wire? I tried jiggling some wires while the truck was running to see if I could get it to lose power, but couldn't figure it out.

What engine size, transmission (auto or manual), and type of 4wd (push button or manual)?

There were a couple bulletins issued for some of these trucks that may be causing your problem. Your cutting out issue doesn’t exactly match the problems described, but it’s worth a look.

TSB 03-08-50-014A Trucks w/ RPO AN3 - regarding the wiring harness under the driver seat getting pinched/chafed and causing multiple problems, including warning lights and drive ability issues - inspect the harness in the spot indicated below.

TSB 07-06-04-019F - Water intruding into the cluster to body harness connector (driver side footwell near firewall pass through - there’s several so it wouldn’t hurt to check them all). Even if you haven’t seen water leaking into the cab, inspect the connector anyway.

Default Any update?

Just wondering what you figured out on this, as I’m having the same issue.
