Starting Issue
What’s good y’all, my 4.3l v6 ‘03 Chevy has trouble starting and it’s been leaking tranny fluid. It cranks but doesn’t start. So I’m not sure if it’s possible if some of the fluid could’ve gotten to the starter and messed it up. Last time it started, it started fine but then it stalled and didn’t want to start anymore. But I’ve replaced the battery twice because it drains and I’ve also replaced the spark plugs and wires recently because they needed replacing and it still doesn’t start. No codes. Could it be the fuel pump? Anyone know what it could be?

Hi Alex,
There is a good possibility there is more than one problem.
Whatever is causing the battery to discharge when not running needs to be found and corrected.
If the battery state of charge is low enough when cranking to start,, the electronics within the system will not function correctly if at all, .
We don't know at this time if the charging system is functioning correctly, that needs to be verified. Once that is checked out we can go after the cause for the no start condition. We can throw all kinds of possible causes for it not starting and if insufficient power is not available for the electrical/electronic systems to work correctly , a lot of $$$ could be spent and the root cause of the problem not found.and corrected.

Forgot to mention I also had an aftermarket head unit installed and a couple of months later it started having the drainage issues but it would still turn on. I also went to go get the alternator tested and they said it was fine. So if that’s the issue how could I resolve it?
