I have a 2008 Silverado with the aluminum block 5.3. It had 262k miles and uses a fair amount of oil and when the level gets low the low oil level light never comes on. I bought a new sensor and screen and when I went to put it in there is no sensor in the oil pan. It has the place to put one and the connector is close by but the hole is blocked with a press in plug (kind of like a freeze plug). It all looks like a factor deal. I would like to add the sensor but I'm worried that if I take the plug out and there are no threads I will be in trouble. Does anyone know (100%) if there are threads behind the plug? Thank you.
