2008 Silverado 1500 5.3 Failed Afm Lifters
I recently picked up a really nice cheap non rotted 2008 silverado 1500 5.3 180k with 2 bad AFM lifters runs like crap. This is my first chevy I have personally owned I am usually a Ram guy have fixed alot of camshafts on hemis so I assume this will be similar. I am not sure what direction to go the camshaft looks ok but when I go to look up new lifters having hard time finding them some places want $50-60 per AFM lifter... unelss I get the cheap rockauto ultra power ones still $30 each. I also looked up some AFM delete kits ranging from $500-600 but I do not reconize the brands so dont know what one id go with I want to keep it close to stock minus afm. I am not looking to spend a ton of money on this truck but when I add up the cost of replacing the afm lifters/current setup It almost does not make sense. What kits do you guys normally go with? or what do you do with these engines in general never worked on one before.
