My remote start on my 2008 Silverado is no longer working after I had the truck sitting for a couple months. When I started the drive the truck again the battery was dead and I had to jumpstarted a couple time before after a few days the battery is fully charged. I try to use the remote start but nothing all I hear is a click. got inside the truck and tried again and the check engine light turns on for a bit. Any advice on what I can do to fix it. Thinking about taking it to a dealer if I can't find the issue.

May be something as simple as needing a fresh battery. Did you rely on the vehicle charging the battery or did you put it on a charger? Using a meter, what's the volt reading of the battery after sitting over night?

I relied on the vehicle to charge the battery. I currently don't have access to a meter. when I start the truck in the morning its around 11 to 12 volts then as I'm driving it will go to about 14.
